Meet Dr. Michael Florez

Michael Florez, DDS is a Kansas City native who is proud to represent his city, family and education. Michael attended Park Hill High School and graduated from Bishop Miege High School. He then moved to St. Louis to begin his life-long dream of becoming a dentist. Dr. Florez has spent years fostering his desire to build lasting relationships with his patients and help improve their oral health. Michael received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Saint Louis University. He moved back to Kansas City where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UMKC in 2016.

Michael has practiced dentistry for 8 years in Kansas City, Missouri with experience in corporate, private practice, and public health. He has completed continuing education courses pertaining to Oral Surgery, Invisalign, Aesthetic Dentistry, Endodontics, and leadership.

Outside of dentistry, Michael and his significant other, Connie, welcomed their first child, Jimmy, in October of 2023. Dr. Florez also enjoys being outdoors and staying active. He loves to travel and explore new places. Michael takes pride in his faith and giving back to the community. His family has always stressed the importance of education and Dr. Florez is currently a mentor to several pre-dental students at UMKC. He has also established the Dr. Florez Health Professional Scholarship through the Hispanic Development Fund to further the careers of other Hispanic individuals interested in dedicating their careers to the health profession.
